June 17th – “… but the LORD looks at the heart”

Jo Giles looks at 1 Samuel 16:1-13, where God sends Samuel to anoint David as the next King of Israel. While there is a great deal of emphasis in our modern culture on the importance of physical beauty and appearance “The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7). God has a purpose and a plan for all of us, no matter what we look like on the outside.
