June 10th – “Putting on Christ” – 3. Humility

The third in a monthly series of All Age Service talks on the theme of “Putting on Christ”, based on Colossians 3:12: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

In this talk, on the theme of “compassion”, Tom Cox looks at various examples of characters who showed or lacked humility, including King David taking responsibility for his wrong actions, the prayers of the Pharisee and the tax collector, and Jesus’ own example of washing the disciples’ feet.
