PCC TREASURER

We are very grateful for the ten years’ service which Adrian Turner has given to the Church as Treasurer. Now that Adrian has decided to stand down from this role, we will be looking and praying for his successor. Please speak to Adrian or to Anthony Muckelt (Assistant Treasurer) about this.

LIFTS FOR INTERNS

While we are without a Youth Minister we could do with help in transporting the interns to Thwaites on the first Friday evening of the month and from  Broughton on Thursday evenings. If you are able to either give a lift or lend your car, please let Alan or the interns know.

A NEW READER!

Congratulations to Glyn Shephard, who was licensed as a Reader at Carlisle Cathedral yesterday. Glyn will be taking over from Alan as Chaplain to the Ulverston Air Cadets, which will be a key part of his new role. We also give thanks for the ministry of our other Readers – Steve Parkinson, Janice Eadington, Marilyn Fell, Eric Barker and Tom Cox – and pray for Jen Cox as she continues her training.

YOUTH MINISTER

Unfortunately, following the recent interviews, we were unable to make an appointment. Please continue to pray as we review the situation and decide the next step.

CTU SECRETARY

Linda Barton will be retiring at the AGM in January of Churches Together in Ulverston. Please speak to her if you are interested, there are 5 meetings a year, further details from Linda.

REMEMBRANCE POPPIES

We are making a display of handmade poppies for Remembrance Sunday. These can be knitted, crochet, fabric, paper or card but not greater than 4 inches diameter. There will be a box at the back of church for any items.

JIGSAW

Thank you to all of you who prayed for the work of Jigsaw during the latest typhoon. The storm passed to the north of Manila but we are asked to continue praying for those affected. I have produced two new designs of greeting cards, now on sale. The photographs are of Sizergh Castle and gardens and Rydal beck at Rydal Hall. Thank you for supporting Jigsaw’s work with the poor.
