EXPLORE TOGETHER QUESTIONS

  • How many of the 10
    Commandments can you
    remember?
  • What do you love in life? What
would be on your ‘Top 5’ list?
  • How do you show love to your
    friends?
  • How could you show love to
people who you find tricky to be
    around?

ACTIVITY IDEA 1

Learn actions to all 10 of the
Commandments. A great video on
YouTube is called ‘Teaching Kids the
10 Commandments

ACTIVITY IDEA 2

Love is a feeling but it’s also a choice.
If you love your family, you help
them (sometimes with dirty jobs)
and if you love a pet you look after
them (sometimes doing even dirtier
jobs!)
Make a list of people/things you feel
love for and a list of the loving
choices you make for them.

PRAYER IDEA

Love requires communication.
Re-commit to praying to God
everyday and discuss with your
family HOW you will do this.
Remember to ask God to help you
love your neighbour too (as this can
be difficult.)

WE’RE LIVE STREAMING

September will be a trial month for live streaming!
Each week we will be using Facebook and Youtube to try different combinations of live streaming, and recording and uploading the 9am service. This should mean that the video of the service or a link to it will be on both platforms, but it will vary what time it is there.
This trial month will help us understand the technology and work out the best
path forward. If you have any questions please contact Ruth Hutchings at
youth@ulverstonparishchurch.org

A MESSAGE FROM HANNAH WALLACE

Hi all you wonderful people!

As some of you will know by now, I’ve been ‘recommended’ to train for ordination (I’m off to vicar school!), so it’s with sadness and excitement that I now need to leave UPC. Alan has assured me that I’ll stay part of the UPC family which is fab. Greg, Sam & Bethan will remain at UPC most of the time – joining me at my placement church (St Paul’s, Barrow) about once a month. I’ll be training with St. Mellitus College. I want to say a massive thank you for your welcome, fellowship, friendship, support, encouragement and prayer as I’ve been part of the life of this fabulous church. Keep up the great work everyone!! Please stay in touch if you’d like to – hannahlovesjesus@hotmail.co.uk

With much love,
Hannah Wallace

FUNERALS

Please remember in your prayers the friends and family of Colin Bolton and Roy Greenwood whose funerals have taken place this week.
Also for the family and friends of Mattie Days whose funeral will be taking place in the coming week.

CORNERSTONE BOOKS AND GIFTS

Cornerstone books and gift shop will be moving out of their site on Market Street. Please pray for them as they prepare to do this and that God will continue to guide them. There is an ongoing sale so why not pop in and support them. The shop opening hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm.

POP UP GOSPEL CHOIR

It’s with sadness of heart that I write to you like this, but I’m afraid I have to let you know that I have to take a step back from the Pop Up Gospel Choir. Not that we really took many steps forward – ‘pop up’ it truly was – but it was a great 3 weeks and I’m so grateful to you all for making it happen.

At the moment, according to government guidelines, choirs of our number can’t meet to sing anyway. However we long for the time when they can. If at some point between now and then a potential new choir leader for this comes out of the woodwork, then it would be great to pick things up again. If you, or anyone you know, might be interested and confident in leading (vocals/piano/experience in chior work/passion for Gospel music…) then please be in touch with Hannah Fishwick: children@ulverstonparishchurch.org.
