All welcome at 8:30am in the Centre for a cooked breakfast and fellowship on Saturday 10th November. Please confirm attendance to John Svatins by the Thursday prior to ensure you are fed!


The remaining rehearsals for the Carol Service will be Mondays 5 & 26 November and 3 & 10 December, all at 7pm in church. There will also be a rehearsal on the afternoon of the Carol Service, time to be confirmed. Please see Alison Emery or David Thompson for further details.


A course introducing the listening ministry and learning active reflective listening skills. Saturday 10th November, here in church from 10am to 4pm. £10pp, bring a packed lunch, refreshments provided. Please book via the office and speak to Martin Sekasi for more details.


Calling all quizzers! On Saturday 17th November at 7pm there will be a quiz night in aid of Tearfund at Croftlands Community Centre. If you are interested in bringing a team or joining one please speak to Janice Eadington. Tickets are £5, which includes a cup of tea (or bring your own alternatives!). Janice would also appreciate any raffle prizes in order to raise enough to cover the hall hire.

On Sunday 27th January we are looking forward to welcoming a speaker from Tearfund to our 10:30am service, to hear in detail about their work.


This Dickensian themed performance with carols, hymns and a nativity will be held at Emmanuel Christian Centre at 7pm on Saturday 24th November.

If you are interested in an acting role, stewarding the event, organising sound, distributing fliers, staging etc. Also looking for a brood of ‘street kids’ similar to the scenes in Oliver! Similar to the Passion Play we would love to see many of the Christians in Ulverston participate in this event, supporting the Dickensian Festival whilst explaining the true Christmas Story. All welcome on Friday 30th November at 6:15pm for prosecco (or non-alcohol drink) whilst we watch The Greatest Showman! £5 donation includes pizzas and drinks. Please speak to Louise Taylor for details.


In April 2019 a group of young people are going on a mission trip to Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They will be doing a number of fundraising events and would love your support. There is a list of events at the back of church. If you are a cake baker we would love donations of cakes for the coffee morning on 17th November. Please drop them off at church before noon the day before. We would also love some help on the day. The funeral of Geoffrey Fare will be held at the crematorium at 11:30am on 13th November. Please pray for his wife Kathleen and the family.

Please hold in your prayers the family and friends of Celia Bull and Edwin Twentyman whose services were held in church last week.


To raise money for the Christmas Parties for the 1500 children of Jigsaw in Manila, soft toys of varying sizes and prices are available at the back of Church near the Missions table. Thank you to those who have already bought or donated. £80 already raised.


We are very grateful for the ten years’ service which Adrian Turner has given to the Church as Treasurer. Now that Adrian has decided to stand down from this role, we will be looking and praying for his successor. Please speak to Adrian or to Anthony Muckelt (Assistant Treasurer) about this. A job specification is available.
