What resources are you using this Christmas?
Advent is a season of reflection in preparation for Christmas. You may find it helpful to use an Advent book to guide andinspire your daily prayers. Here are some ideas:

  • ‘Advent for everyone’ by Tom Wright – contemporary reflections on passages from Luke’s gospel
  • ‘The whole Christmas story’ by Jo Swinney – an advent adventure through Genesis, Revelation and points in between
  • ‘An Advent Book of Days’ by Gregory Cameron – with illustrations, prayers and reflections on the characters of Christmas

Mothers’ Union
NO MORE 1in3

Each year the United Nations has 16 days of activism from November 25th to December 10th, in opposition to gender-based abuse. The Mother’s Union are encouraging everyone to wear a purple scarf as a symbol of our support of this.

Have you ticked the receive post box, in your permissions? Most of the time we send out things via email but occasionally we send things by ‘snail mail’ and if you don’t tick the box you won’t be included. We would hate for you to miss out so please take a look today.
Please check that you have added any unavailability into ChurchSuite.

Living in Love and Faith

… is aproject which invites us to learn together about life, relationships, sexuality and marriage. It goes with a five-part video-based course which we will be running in the Parish Centre (Room 3) on Monday evenings from 24th January. If you would like to take part in this, please contact the church office.

This teaching day is part of our programme for ‘Growing Disciples’. Previous days have looked at The Gospel, The Bible, Prayer,Mission, The Church, The Kingdom of God, Evangelism, The Sermon of the Mount, The Old Testament, What is Discipleship?, Christian Lifestyle, What is Human? and What is Church History? This year Bishop James will continue the ‘What is…….?’ series with an in depth look at What is Glory?
