Living in Love and Faith
… is a project which invites us to learn together about life, relationships, sexuality and marriage. It goes with a five-part video-based course which we will be running in the Parish Centre (Room 3) on Monday evenings from 24th January.
If you would like to take part in this, please contact the church office.
Church Family News
The Tyson family have landed in Harpenden. If you would like a copy of their newsletter, please get in touch.
Maker’s Market
We raised £660 between October an January, meaning that £7850 has been raised since September 2018. Many thanks and congratulations to all involved.
Christmas Appeal
This year, for our Christmas Appeal, we supported Jigsaw Kids Ministries and Mind in Furness. Thank you so much for your generous donations which have enabled us to give each charity £261.05.
While we are without an Administrator, the parish office (20 Church Walk, Ulverston, LA12 7EN) will be open between 09.30 and 11.30, Monday to Friday.
As far as possible, we will have some-one based in the office during those hours. You can also contact us at any time by phone or email, and we will get back to you as soon as we can:

handwoven tote bags
We are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of tote bags for sale. They are individually crafted in the Masasi area using traditional techniques. We though this would be a good idea, as we anticipate a reduced demand for palm crosses this year, and this is a way of villagers being able to gain a bit of extra income. They are made from dried branches of the dwarf palm Hyphaena Coriacia (as used to make the palm crosses).
These grow wild and so are not cultivated or chemically treated, this has no impact on the environment and is sustainable.
Each tote is handmade and therefore unique in colour, style and design. Above are some examples showing the skill involved in making each bag. We have orginised them into four categories for purchase, but they are all different!
Each bag measures approximately 19″x16″x6″

Children and Families Minister
We are looking forward to welcoming Hannah Fishwick back to work after maternity leave on 3 April 2022. Hannah will be working part-time, including Sundays. In the meantime, she has kindly offered to resume responsibility for Toddlers and to help with Junior Church. We are truly grateful for the volunteers who have stepped into the gap whilst Hannah has been on ‘mat leave’ and who continue to make our work with children and their families possible.
Ministry Opportunities
One of the wonderful things about being part of the Body of Christ (the Church) is that we all have a part to play. God has given all of us different gifts, passions and vocations. We find fulfilment when these are exercised and used, and as the Holy Spirit works among us, we have a positive impact on the church and on society. Here are some of the opportunities for ministry within Ulverston Parish Church. Please speak to one of the church leaders or contact the church office if you would like to serve in one of these areas:
