This year’s service ‘Come Everything is Ready’ has been written by the women of Slovenia and focuses on inclusion of all in God’s family. The service will be at the Friends Meeting House at 7.30pm on Friday 1 March. If anyone would like to help with the readings in this service please contact Kath Walley.

PANCAKE PARTY – Tuesday 5 March

The time has come again when we will be hiring chefs for the annual Pancake Party! Last year we had over 100 mouths to feed so we would like to prepare at least 200 pancakes this year. Please fill in the form at the back of church with your name, contact details and how many pancakes you think you could prepare. Thanks!

Hannah Fishwick

The church will be open all day for prayer and the side chapel will be set out as a quiet space with prayer resources. We will have Morning Prayer at 08.30 in the side chapel. During the day, there will be Toddlers and Parish Fellowship. We will finish the day with Holy Communion in the north aisle at 19.30, with ‘ashing’.

It may seem early, but we are looking for potential hosts for next year’s intern. If you want to find out more, please speak to Alan.

The annual ladies conference will be held at the new Spring Mount Premises at Salthouse Pavillion Roose Road Barrow on Saturday 9 March from 10 am- 4pm. See the leaflets at the back of church for more information.

The churchyard is in the process of affiliation to the Quiet Garden Movement as a place where people can be still and at peace. However we need a few more seats. If you have an old garden bench to recycle we would be very grateful. See Jane or Elizabeth Thank you

CAP – Christians against Poverty

is an award-winning charity that works in partnership with local churches to provide practical and holistic support for people who are struggling with debt. Unlike other debt services, it is delivered in the client’s own home by a Debt Coach. This is particularly suited to those who are traumatized by their debt.  The PCC have given their approval for UPC to take forward a plan to start a CAP Debt Service through the church. To start this service, we need initially to identify a voluntary Debt Coach who would be responsible for running the service. If you are interested in this voluntary post and would like to know more, please speak to Phil Huck or Christine Lim.

We have been invited to take a team to Blackpool from 14-20 September under the oversight of Through Faith Missions. They will provide training over 2 Saturdays and additional team members. Speak to Alan if you are interested.

After many enquiries we are holding another Cabaret Night on 10 May at the Ulverston Sports Club. The event is an integral part of our ongoing outreach into the community. Entertainment will be provided by a variety of local artists. The evening will include  a Pie and Peas Supper. All proceeds to go to the UPC Bell Restoration Fund.

Tickets and further details available very soon.

Copies of the new programme of events at Rydal Hall are available at the back of church.

We would like to remind parents and carers that children are their responsibility after the 10.30 Sunday service, whether in church or outside.
